7 ATMCC members braved the wind and rain over the weekend to gather some checkpoints, ride some new roads, travel through some passes and “send it” round some corners.
In attendance were:
Kevin, Rachel, Eddie, Chris, Leo, Maurice, Naomi
We met up at Milton Services Dumbarton road. and travelled from there towards Balloch. A road closure caused us to lose Leo, but alas only for a short time 🙂
With the enforcer back amongst us. I navigated the back roads towards Callander where we had our first stop.
We noticed the sheen from the almost bald rear tyre on one of the bikes, but alas try as we might nobody had one in stock. fingers crossed it would last then!
then off towards Braemar via Killin and Aberfeldy.
we stopped in Aberfeldy at the Fountain Restaurant for some lunch and then stopped again in Braemar by the checkpoint.
Eddie though had already caught the scent of a single malt and passed us by. The next time we would see him was in Aboyne.
once in Aboyne, we were greeted with some liquid refreshments and a large plate of Stovies at the Hotel.
after a few more refreshments we went to the local Curry house for a lovely wee curry before we headed back to the pub for a few more refreshments
we got a lesson in card playing by the two sharks Naomi and Leo.
The Next morning following a walk before dinner we left to take in the sights on the Cockbridge to Tomintoul road.
We stopped at the old fire station in Tomintoul for refreshments and again at the House of Bruar before heading home.
